أظهرت نتائج العديد من الدراسات أن الأطفال والبالغين يتعلمون أكثر ويتذكرون بشكل أفضل عند الكتابة باليد. وفد أكدت دراسة جديدة على أن استخدام الكتابة اليدوية يعطي تعلماً وذاكرة أفضل من الكتابة باستخدام الكيبورد
قام فريق من العلماء بقيادة البروفيسور أودري فان دير مير من مركز "إن تي إن يو" الطبي الأمريكي، بفحص النشاط الدماغي لدى 20 طالباً تتراوح أعمارهم بين السابعة والرابعة عشرة
وأجرى العلماء عمليات تتبع وتسجيل لنشاط موجات الدماغ، حيث ارتدى المشاركون خوذة خاصة تحتوي على 250 قطباً كهربائياً
ينتج الدماغ نبضات كهربائية عندما يكون نشطاً، فتقوم الحساسات الموجودة في الأقطاب الكهربائية بالتقاط النشاط الكهربائي الذي يحدث في الدماغ
وقد استغرق كل اختبار 45 دقيقة لكل مشارك، وأظهرت النتائج أن الدماغ لدى كل من الشباب والأطفال يكون أكثر نشاطاً عند الكتابة باليد منه عند الكتابة على لوحة المفاتيح.
وقال البروفيسور فان دير مير: "إن استخدام القلم والورق يمنح الدماغ المزيد من المقدرة على الاحتفاظ بالكريات، ويخلق نشاطاً أكثر بكثير في الأجزاء الحسية من الدماغ. يتم تنشيط الكثير من الحواس عن طريق الضغط على القلم، ورؤية الرسائل التي تكتبها وسماع الصوت الذي تصدره أثناء الكتابة. تخلق هذه التجارب الحسية اتصالاً بين أجزاء مختلفة من الدماغ وتفتح الدماغ للتعلم"
وقد أكد الباحثون على أهمية السماح للأطفال بالكتابة والرسم في سن مبكرة وخاصة في المدرسة، والتقليل من استخدام الأجهزة الإلكترونية مثل الكمبيوتر والأجهزة اللوحية للكتابة، لتعزيز قدراتهم الذهنية، وفق ما نقلت صحيفة تايمز أوف إنديا أونلاين.
