A popular and over-subscribed, high performing ENC School, we seek a Drama Teacher to join a thriving Arts Faculty for the coming academic year

Our seven form entry school currently caters for 1450 children from FS1 to Y13. We opened a state of the art Primary block for Y3 to Y6 in September 2020. The expansion enables us to accommodate an additional 1000 students over the next five years

The campus is well resourced and boasts excellent facilities with two Drama studios

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach students from Y4 to Y11 with the possibility that drama or theatre studies could be offered at A Level in the future. Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level would therefore be beneficial but is not essential. We are also keen to expand the number of opportunities for our students to share their talents through cross curricula Arts Faculty projects

As a BSO school (EduBase No.143834) we are able to offer a UK recognised induction to candidates with QTS using the new Early Career Framework, in association with ESP Education, formerly the international arm of Buckinghamshire Learning Trust

We follow the 2014 National Curriculum of England and the EYFS, Development Matters curriculum in FS. We use GL CAT4 and Progress tests in addition to offering a range of GCSE, iGCSE, iAS and iA Levels from Cambridge and Edexcel exam boards to our older students

We currently offer GCSE Drama and there is the opportunity to deliver A Level Drama or Theatre Studies in the future

The successful candidate will be teaching classes from Y4 to Y11 dependent on their experience

The school gained BSO (British Schools Overseas) accreditation in May 2016 following a successful inspection in its second year of operation. In January 2019 in its fifth year of operation it had its third ADEK inspection and was placed in Band A – ‘a high performing’ school moving from satisfactory in 2015 to  good in 2017, it was graded very good with outstanding features in 2019. Most recently in February 2019 the second BSO inspection graded the school good with many outstanding features, commenting on the school’s remarkable rate of improvement

We welcome applications from candidates with one the following sets of qualifications

• An Internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Education specialising in Drama or a closely related subject and QTS or equivalent

or

• An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Drama or a closely related subject and an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in Drama and QTS or equivalent

or

• An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Drama or a closely related subject with QTS or equivalent

There is no longer a need for teachers to have post-graduation teaching experience (in accordance with ADEK regulations which apply to all private schools in Abu Dhabi)

Please note two supporting references and a police clearance certificate, ACRO or DBS no more than 3 months old must be provided

Candidates travelling with no dependents or with a spouse with their own international package will benefit the most from our package
